Hi Mohit, sorry for the delayed response. Absolutely, let's provide a comprehensive explanation:Why option (d) is correct:The passage explicitly states: "...eating one’s foe was thought to enable the victor to possess their strength and bravery." This directly supports option (d), making it the correct answer. Why options (b) and (c) are incorrect:(b) Eating the bodies of the deceased to show reverence: While the passage does mention cannibalism as part of funeral rituals among certain tribes, it doesn't frame it as a way to "show reverence." Instead, it's presented as a means of absorbing the deceased's qualities or ensuring their spirit's safe passage. The concept of reverence isn't explicitly linked to the act.(c) Consuming human flesh was considered an act of survival in ancient times: Although the passage acknowledges that cannibalism might have been practiced during famines, it doesn't generalize it as a common survival tactic in ancient times. The focus is primarily on ritualistic and symbolic reasons for cannibalism. In summary:Option (d) is the most accurate because it directly reflects the text's assertion about consuming enemies to gain their strength and bravery. Options (b) and (c) either misrepresent the nuances of the passage or overgeneralize the reasons for cannibalism.

Thankyou so much for the explanation, but I am sorry to say my question is still unanswered. Can you please suggest me some other sources to practice for RC. It is a humble request.

Hi Mohit, some other great sources to practice RCs are previous year questions. They are a great place to understand how the exam is answered.
