There are 3 inlet pipes A, B and C that can fill a tank in 3 hrs, 6 hrs and x hrs respectively. There is a leakage at the bottom of the tank that can empty the tank in y hrs. First Pipe A and Pipe C are opened for half an hour. Then Pipe A is closed and Pipe B is opened (with pipe C still open) for an hour. 20% of the tank is filled up to this point. After this, Pipe A is opened and Pipe C is closed (with Pipe B still open). The time taken to fill the remaining part of the tank in 6hrs. Find the value of x. I am getting y as 3.33 i want to make it smooth but i always get fractions HOW TO MAKE IT SMOOTH FOR SUBSTITUTION OTHER EQUATIONS There are 3 inlet pipes A, B and C that can fill a tank in 3 hrs, 6 hrs and x hrs respectively.
