Two numbers are in the ratio P: Q. When 1 is added to both the numerator and the denominator, the ratio gets changed to R/S. Again, when 1 is added to both the numerator and the denominator, it becomes 1/2. Find the sum of P and Q.

ratio and proportion in the solution you can see C/A = 4X/2X =1/2 , but instead of 2/1 written as 2/1 . i don't understand why
