The solution to this question-2 of Quant Sprint test 4 is incorrect
image.png 238.16 KBIn this question, we are given that Ramesh and Somesh meet for the first time at a distance of 80 km from Somesh's house, and they meet for the second time at a distance of 20 km from Ramesh's house.So, distances covered when they meet for the first time are 120 km (Ramesh), and 80 km (Somesh).Also, distances covered when they meet for the second time are: 380 km (Ramesh), and 220 km (Somesh).Since the time taken to reach from first meeting point to the second meeting point is the same, the ratio of the speed of Ramesh and Somesh will be:r/s = (380 - 120)/(220 - 80) = 260/140 = 13/7Thus, at the third meeting point, Ramesh will have travelled a total of 380 + 260 = 640 km.
The solution to the given question (Question 6, QUANT, Real CAT Mock 5) is incorrect.
image.png 211.59 KBIn this question, if A is 1, C can be 7, and if A is 2, C can be 6, so the answer should be 12 instead of 10.
The solution to this question(Question 13, QUANT, Real CAT Mock - 5) is incorrect.
image.png 171.4 KBIn this question, the thousands digit must be 0, since we are supposed to consider a 3-digit number.So, the tens digit will become 0.Since the unit's digit cannot be less than 0 (ten's digit), there is no 3-digit number possible.So, the answer should be 0.
(LOD-1 EBook Linear and Quadratic Equations) Solved Example 12. The answer of this question is incorrect in my opinion.
See, we are given 2 equations:-x^2 - 35x + 304 = 0 ย --> ย Roots are x1 = 16, x2 = 19y^2 - 37y + 336 = 0 ย --> ย Roots are y1 = 16, y2 = 21Now to find out the relation between x and y, we have to consider all 4 possible pairs:-(x1, y1) ย --> ย x1 = y1(x2, y2) ย --> ย x2 < y2(x1, y2) ย --> ย x1 < y2(x2, y1) ย --> ย x2 > y1Since we can't define any generic relation between x and y, the answer should be option - E.
(Solved Example 20 -> LOD1 EBook -> Inequalities) The correct answer to this question is not in the option.
(n - 5)(n - 10)(n - 15)...(n - 125) < 0In this equation, for n < 5, the expression is negative, but since we have to consider the positive integers, n = 1,2,3,4 are a part of our solution.Now, for n = (5, 10), the expression is positive. So, this is not a part of our solution.ย Then, for n = (11,15), the expression is negative. So n == 11,12,13,14 is a part of the solution.This will go on, and we will get the solution asย n = 1,2,3,4,11,12,13,14,21,22,23,24,... , 121,122,123,124Here, the number of integers satisfying the inequality will come out asย 52,ย and not 48.
Problem in increasing scores.
How to improve mock scores quickly?
How to score well in VARC?
I am scoring only 20-25 marks in VARC mocks. I want to increase it to 45 and more. How to do it?
